Colour inspiration for the background wash of rich orange and dark brown, came to my brush with thoughts of the rusty brown cans we kids used to make our ‘string phones’Â and from a flaming orange ‘leucospermum’ in full bloom at the van door. Resulting in a modern and brilliant ‘Pop Art’ feel, I just love.
Painted in Spring 2022, from the Mount Compass caravan park in South Australia. I was thinking about the tin can string phones we made as kids whilst painting for an online artist challenge called ‘Washtober’. A prompt word to paint to for each day was nominated across the month of October. The days word, of course was ‘communication’.
