Who doesn’t adore a lovely bunch of pretty cyclamen?
This cheerful bunch inspired by accomplished watercolourist Andrew Geeson. Painted whilst still in the caravan, Spring 2021. Not long into my foray with watercolour in Nimbin.
Mum loved cyclamen and when I paint any floral I think of her. I enjoyed creating the shift from mandarin to melon hues in the flower petals and that pleasing accomplishment of allowing the pigments to be mixed expressively on the papers as the painting takes shape. Works especially well when painting foliage. so many greens.
Archival to last a lifetime or longer.
