The Eurasian Eagle Owl/ Bubo bubo or sometimes called the Uhu is one of the largest of the owl species.
How regal are her ear tufts, distinctive and something special to paint in their tawny mottled colours, as too are her striking orange gold eyes.
Painted during my stay at my sisters in Goondiwindi December 2022. The original sold by Nutmeg Home my stockist in Goondiwindi she makes a wonderful giclee print on Smooth cotton rag or canvas, with the background furrowed with visible stokes from my well used ‘old’ favourite, for a textured finish to a dark night against her fluffy white/gold/grey mottled feathers.
