An experience I will never forget. In the less than human- friendly, freezing waters of the South Australia’s Spenser Gulf, I donned a 7mm wetsuit ( with the help of 3 men) and got amongst a natural phenomena.

Hundreds of migrating giant Australian Cuttlefish, gathering to breed can be seen in the exquisite emerald saltiness, amongst the rocky shelter of Point Lowly.

Males can be particularly big in size and measure up to 50cm long and weigh about 10kgs.

Expert colour-changers and masters of camouflage. they can change shape, texture to look like rocks and seaweed- a spectacular sight to see.

I am grateful to my friend for assisting me to experience this and the photography from a day to remember forever.
